This is a place dedicated to the exploration of Toltec Wisdom. The Toltec Path is a journey of self discovery and to the remembering of who you truly are.
Welcome All! My name is
Shane Utley and I have been studying Toltec Wisdom for a few years now. I
wanted to start this website because there is mostly websites for Toltec
Mentors on the internet now and I thought a student’s perspective might be
helpful. I want to use this site to share some of my “stories” and experiences
as well as tools that I have found helpful to me along the way.
I am going to post new
articles rather regularly so the site might be a kind of, sort of blog for me
so check back often.
I have many links to books
that I have read or am reading. I have a habit of having about five books
started at one time. The subjects range from Toltec Wisdom to Shamanism to
Self-Help and Meditation.
If you are looking for a
place to start, to see if this is of interest to you read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. That is a great place to start. Don Miguel
Ruiz lays it out pretty simply here. Might seem like a little too simple but go deeper with it. I myself started with the Carlos Castaneda
series but those books are more “out there” than The Four Agreements.
Back to me, I have been
studying and practicing this material for a few years now. I have journeyed to TeotihuacanMexico
twice. I definitely recommend this trip. No kidding, it will change your life.
It changed my life twice both times. The second time it changed my life
profoundly even though it took six months for me to realize it. Maybe I will
write about it and post it one day but I am still in the shockwaves of it as of
this writing.
But as far as my credentials
to write these articles and list these products, I was rather hard headed and
was constantly looking for more material to read or a new product to help me
move forward. Really all you need is your intent. I am not saying that there
are not helpful tools out there, but you can learn and read about tools as a
strategy to keep from using the tools. This is just another way the Parasite
(see The Four Agreements) can trip you up and keep you from Personal Freedom. So
I am only going to write about products or books that I found helpful.
One of the things about the Toltec Path that has intrigued
me is the process of recapitulation. The first time I ever heard about it was
when my Dad was telling me about a process in a book he was reading. The book
was The Toltec Way by Susan Gregg. She laid out a way of bringing up a memory
that had an emotional component to it and using a technique of turning your
head and breathing to release the pent up emotion. Well I read that, but felt
like I needed more information…..even though Susan Gregg was quite detailed
about the process.
I think the most detailed information you can get about
Toltec recapitulation is the Victor Sanchez book called The Toltec Path of
Recapitulation: Healing Your Past to Free Your Soul. It has pictures and
everything!
I looked at EFT which is short for Emotional Freedom
Technique. It is about repeating a belief to yourself while tapping certain
points on your head and upper body.
The reason I bring all this up is because if you want to go
down a path of searching for more information it is there but it will not help
you with releasing those emotions. That is an easy trap to fall into. I will
however layout the process that I use myself. I call it the Toltec version of
The Sedona Method.
I sit down with my inventory or just with a feeling or mood
I am in and I ask myself to let the feeling or memory come completely into my
awareness. I sit there and just feel it for a few seconds or so. I then ask
myself if I can let this feeling go. I answer the question. The answer is not
that important. I then ask myself if I will let the feeling go. I answer the
question. Then I ask myself when I will let it go. I then exhale and visualize
the feeling coming out of my mouth like a thick smoke.
This is a very powerful process for me. If the emotion is a
strong one I have to repeat the process several times and I like to do it
outside away from people because it can cause dry heaves and vomiting for me.
While it is quite uncomfortable, it is a small price to pay to release
something like that from inside of me.
This is a little exercise I did some time ago. It is meant to raise your vibration. You collect photos of people, places and things you love, Then you can do a little movie like the one below. The idea as far as I know was a guy named Danny Arrington. You can check him out on YouTube. He does Law of Attraction kind of talks. Last time I checked he was getting into internet marketing, but his first few videos are the ones that hooked my attention. Email me if you want to know how to do this. I can give you some directions. Although I am pretty sure Danny did a video on YouTube about making these vision videos.
